Lorina Buhr will represent the professorship for 'Culture and Ethics of Biomedicine' at the Institute for History and Ethics of Medicine at the University Medical Center Göttingen from April 2025. Previously, she was a postdoctoral researcher at the Ethics Institute of Utrecht University (NL) and worked as a research assistant at the Universities of Potsdam, Erfurt and Hamburg.
She received her doctorate from the University of Erfurt in 2021 on the natural philosophical implications of the political and social concept of power.
Her current research and teaching focuses on environmental and climate ethics as well as ethics and political theory of the digitalization of healthcare and society. In doing so, it is important to her to think closely about scientific research, technology development and ethics on the one hand, and within the broad spectrum of applied ethics, environmental, bio- and medical ethics and technology and innovation ethics on the other. She is spokesperson of the subgroup Human-Machine Interaction of the AEM AG Digitalization and Health.
